Our History

Koon Chun Hing Kee Soy & Sauce Factory Limited (1996) was found in 1928 on the Main Street of Kowloon City in Hong Kong, then a British colony. During World War II, our fermentation site was taken over and we were forced to relocate to the nearby Ta Tit Street. In 1967, we resettled in Yuen Long in the New Territories – the present premises.

Koon Chun only uses Canadian non-genetically-modified soy beans for all of the bean-based products (soy sauce and condiments). Our sauces are prepared in a natural way, bathed under the sun for months during the fermentation process and free from additional chemicals and preservatives. Sauces are then pasteurized and packed using modern automated equipment and in a hygienic and clean environment, maintaining product quality and consistency while preserving the unique favor of family recipes for generations.

Quality

All Koon Chun soy sauces are first extracted and naturally fermented under the sun for at least half a year and never have any second or third soy sauce extract.  No added Sodium Glutamate or chemicals to assist fermentation.

 

Also, they are all manufactured using Canadian non-genetically modified soy beans without adding any preservative, flavor enhancer or chemicals to assist fermentation. They are all prepared in natural way which preserve the unique favor of natural sauce.

Translucent and Brilliant Red Brown 

Koon Chun soy sauce is naturally brewed or fermented so it looks translucent and brilliant red-brown that has an aroma and complexity of flavor. It will stick to the bottle like red wine.

Rich Aroma

Koonchun's quality will generate a rich aroma very easily that is mouthwatering and mellow. It creates delicate fragrances that are attractive to many who love cooking.

Bubble

After shaking the bottle, a thin and fine layer of the foaming bubble will remain around the bottle surface and still remain after a few minutes later.

Taste

The taste is predominated by saltiness, followed by moderate umami and sweet taste. It enhances the original flavor of the food and creates a perfect balance on dishes.
